    Duracoating a rough cut barrel ?


    Anybody duracoat a rough cut barrel.

    Not really that rough of a cut, but you can see the lathe marks on it although very fine.

    BTW this is not a build on a Savage and I got this barrel cheap so....

    I dont really care that much about what it looks like since its going to be a hunting rifle, but just curious.

    Take an orbital palm sander with a fine grit paper, lay the barrel on a flat surface, and use the sander to roll it back and forth. Walla...smooth enough to make the duracoat look great and only took 5 mins
