savage 111 300 win mag head spacing

Im putting a new barrel on a savage 111 300 win mag and so far when ive tried headspacing it I get it to close on the go gauge but do I need a no go gauge or can I get away with putting scotch tap on my go gauge to act as a "NO GO GAUGE"? Thanks

You can use scotch tape if you don't have a no go

    Yup, add scotch tape.

More often I subscribe to the sized brass method as a Go and then add the tape to become No-Go. Either way, brass or Go-gauge, add the tape and you have a No-Go.
