NEW Savage 12 LRP HS Precision stock

Came with the new HS Precision stock.Nice and big improvement over older stock.
Has the typical rough finish flat black paint. Was wondering if anyone has sanded the stock surface smooth and repainted?
Once sanded smooth I plan on using sealer, then primer and base coat clear coat all urethane products.
    Anyone done this?

How long did you have to wait for you lrp? What caliber did you go with? Thinking about one in 260 myself, glad they have the new stock the old HS Precision stock does not work for me either I have one on my lrpv and will change it out some day. Pics?

I got mine in 6.5CM before Christmas. It took about five days from my LGS. Its very accurate but heavy. I field hunt mostly and target shoot so it fits me great. I am leaving my stock as it is but if I wanted to paint it I wouldnt sand off the texture. It makes the gun easy to grip. I got a Vortex 6-24x50 ffp to go with it and Its a little high but I will change it soon. Its a deadly combo. You can ask the dogs around my house! Oh no! You cant, they are dead! The crows are packing also!http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/...psreosuhpj.jpg

This is my first 5 shots after setting scope @ 100 yards. Thats precision enough for me! I pulled the one on the right. The others can be covered with a dime. It has had about 40 or so rounds through it. I cant complain about anything.

Just got mine (6.5 Creedmoor) couple weeks ago and been waiting on the goodies to come in. Of course I'm at work when it all shows up at my house. Couple more days and I'll be shooting! Can't wait. Bought mine from Bud's and had it within a week. Also came with the new stock. Pretty nice IMO!

    I went with:
    Ken Farrell 30 MOA base
TPS medium rings (was told I could probably get away with low rings)
    Sightron SIII 8-32x56 LRMDCM SFP
    Vortex scope bubble level

Already have a case of each: Hornady Match 120 AMAX & the 140 AMAX
