    5.56 in 223 Hog Hunter

Can a Hog Hunter fire a 5.56 round.

I can get a great deal on a hog hunter, but was wondering if I can use Military 5.56 ammo for general use ?

    Thanks guys.

Yes it can. I am pretty sure the chamber on the Savage is similar to the .223 Wylde in that it has a longer lead. The reciever and bolt on the Savage is certainly strong enough to handle the 60,000 PSI of the Nato round. I have shot a ton of it with no issues.

There's a "sticky" one this in "Ammo and Reloading Standard Cartridges."
