    What trigger guard is this?

I called savage up to get a metal trigger guard for a 111. Gave her a serial and the rifle pulled up as an accutrigger rifle which it is not. It is a round back with a 2 screw trigger. When I told her that she did some searching and said she had a trigger guard for me. It is part number 106980 trigger guard matte AT (wide). Problem is that it doesn't look like any of the savage trigger guards I've used before. What is it to?

Looks like it is for the rifles that have the bolt release at the trigger guard

If yours is a top bolt release, you need a 105417.

Thank you. I posted this one for sale and if it doesn't sell in a couple days I'll call savage to see about sending back and swapping.

No, it's not....if it was, it would have a hole in the front for the release button. That is a "transition" trigger guard, so to speak. It is intended for use with a DBM magazine frame that was originally made for a trigger guard bolt release, but ended up with a top release.

Wouldn't it have a hole in the front of the trigger guard, if it was for a front release trigger model?

So I will this guard work in a top bolt release if it is inletted and bedded for it? I don't see a problem and I started to buy it.

They used to put the same guard on Stevens 200's, but it was a plastic version.

If they put them in the 200's it has to work on other top bolt release actions so you should be good to use on top release Foxx.

It was what I was looking for. Foxx is buying the one savage sent me. I don't actually need it anymore so it all worked out. I needed the trigger guard for a choate tactical stock I planned on ordering. However, I found a good deal on a choate varmint and went that route. It has a molded trigger guard so I won't need one with it.
