    Help with 10FP

I am trying to help a friend determine if his 10FP (308 Win) with side bolt release has a center or stagger feed internal box mag? It was manufactured in 2008...I know one of you folks here that's smarter than me can help.

    Thanks! CJ

1)Enter the serial number into the savage parts finder. Or
    2) remove the stock. If the magazine stays on the action, it's a stagger feed. If it stays in the stock, it's center feed.

    Help with 10FP

    Thank Hot!

Edit: How can you tell on the parts finder? Will it be obvious?

If it's a center feed, the magazine box will be MAG BOX SHORT STD (NFS) - PN: 105663
NFS stands for New Feed System (center feed)

See F900845 and G900845 for the difference between the two.

A stagger feed magazine box will look like this one, as seen on the Savage parts finder.

A center feed magazine box will be displayed like the following:

Note the radical changes in the shape of the center feed magazine box, item 5 in the bottom photo.
