Thread: Savage Axis II 308

As far as the econo rifles go the axis has MANY more aftermarket parts and they are so accurate it's worth building on. Ruger Americans are good and come with the accu trigger as well but I don't think anyone is making stocks for them....you can also get an axis with a threaded barrel to add a muzzle brake

Yes I seen that. But the Axis II doesn't come in a a threaded barrel right now. Iv always had savage rifles and couldn't see getting anything else. Though I did have a Browning A-Bolt in 308 and it was really nice!!

My first stock I ordered on Jan 22nd and still don't have it but it's because I added the high gloss finish and they were having trouble during the curing process with it so they ended up having to send me a regular satin finish. The second one I ordered Feb 15th and got it a couple of days ago....so like three weeks

Hmm I never had a problem with the finish. I had no Idea you could get a high gloss finish. What does it look like?

Yeah I am going prairie dog hunting this fall and just bought another .223 New England with a bull barrel and I'm going to get a thumb hole stock for it as well

I don't know, I have never seen one but I'm kinda glad it ended up this way. I was having second thoughts about a gloss stock with a matte finish barrel

Oh nice. I have thought about a single shot but I'm in love with lever actions lol I like a bolt action for stuff like varmints, lever for deer and other big game
