    Stevens Model 39A .410

I recently purchased an old tube-fed, bolt-action Model 39A and she's an all-around dandy except that the last shell seems to want to hang on the spring-follower (ie, the butt-end of the shell comes up but the nose wants to hang). Is this something common, or just a fault of the way the shells are made. (The only things I've shot, so far, are Remington Express.) Thanks.

Sounds like the tube spring is weak and doesn't have enough jam to get the last shell into the lifter.

I'd just buy a new spring for it.
