    Need advise for build

Hey folks, I need to pick your brains as to the best way to go about my build. I have a Model 12 LRP in 6.5 CM that I am in love with. I would like this same repeating action with target accutrigger for a build in .308. I am confused as to what model number the action is. I am ordering a Mcree precision stock for the build and will buy a good bull barrel. Is the barrel for this action always a large shank? Any build advise greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. This forum rocks!!

Yes, IIRC the LRP actions are all Large Shank.

The only way I know to get that action is to buy a LRP and sell off the barrel and stock. You might call Jim Briggs at Northland Shooters Supply and see if he can get you just the action.

If you are getting a mcree stock and aftermarket barrel anyway, why not go with a regular short action and just upgrade the trigger. It would probably be cheaper and still get you where you want to be. But if you like the LRP action by all means get one, but you should be able to save some cash and not give up any accuracy by going with a standard action.

bootsmcguire, Thanks for the advise. My main reason for the same action was the target acc-trigger. Iv'e been reading about the rifle basix sav-2 trigger and it sounds promising. Might have to try your suggestion. Thank you.

You can easily upgrade to the target accu-trigger for about $80.

Have you done this yourself? Where might one get the parts from that list? I would LOVE to upgrade the trigger in my model 14ac to the 1.5lb.
