    Savage (E) Serial Number

Anybody know how a person would go about getting the model number and year of manufacture for a bolt action Savage with (E) serial number? I seen a gentleman's name on Savage's website who to contact, but thought someone on here may know of another way. Any info is appreciated...Thanks

I don't know when E ended best I could figure on my EL was around late 1969 or 1970. Based on old advertising and the relatively low serial #.

Don't get the E prefix in the serial number confused with model number such as Model 110EL. The OP is asking about his serial number such as E1123XX for example.

Yep. Besides the year, I like to even know what model it is, 110, 114 etc. I checked the twist in the barrel a little while ago and it is a 1:10.

Sorry my bad was in a rush this morning. Now I am understanding why researching can be a bit confusing. Didn't intend to add to it.
