Converting new style FP to previous style

Since my recent post about problems with light strikes and primer blanking, I have aquired an old style firing pin assembly to replace the newer style one piece firing pin with rear springs. But it doesn't quite work.

From the schematic it seems I also need a "cocking piece sleeve".
1.Are there any other parts I need or that are different from the new design?
2.Will my existing BAS and "Cocking Piece Pin" work with the new setup?.
3.What keeps the Cocking Piece Pin from falling out?

Hopefully I can get this to work and adjust the FP protrusion down. If this doesn't fix the blanking then I will get a PTG bolt head.

    Thanks

ETA I have the top bolt release and no cocking indicator thru my BAS.

The cocking piece sleeve is what holds the cocking pin in place. The hole at the end of the slot is where you insert the pin and then when it's all assembled in the bolt the sleeve is pushed forward so the narrow part of the slot holds the pin in place.

Thanks for that pic AZ_gun_nut that is what I'm thinking I need. Are there different diameters or will any SA sleeve fit?
Following are pics of what I have to work with...

I notice that the old style pin seems to have the cocking indicator tail that I haven't seen in other disassembly pics. Fortunately my BAS has a hole that fits. THe other thing I wondered about is the cocking pin. Mine has a spring retention groove but otherwise looks about the same diameter so it should fit - anyone know if it won't work and I need to get a different one?

    Thanks

The firing pin is still different so I don't know what to tell you. Here's the schematic of an older Short Action bolt assembly.

It looks to me that if you replace the cocking piece on the lower firing pin and get the cocking piece sleeve you should be all set?

If you go to https://store.savagearms.com/partfinder/ and enter G500501 for the serial number you can pull up the part numbers.

This might help, here's a complete shot action firing pin assembly from Midway: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/630...ProductFinding

You'll also need the retaining pin to match the magnum firing pin, your existing pin may work.

You can get the sleeve here: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/1348930H.htm

The cocking piece pin will work in either, all you need is the cocking piece sleeve.

Thanks, I figured I was close to what I needed but that I still needed something, before I started ordering parts. Numrich is a great source and usually better prices than most other places. I just ordered an accustock from them so as usual I should have waited and combined shipping.
