110 Tactical .308

I have an older 110LH LE Tactical .308. I would like to convert to a longer cartridge (30-06AI). I've been told by folks here who should know that the action needs machining to accept a larger magazine box.

Does anyone here have a clue as to what is needed and what the costs are?

You will need a different front baffle at least. A groove will have to be machined in the bottom of the action to use a longer magazine (look at yours and you will see what I mean.) The action mounting screw distance will be different and the stock will have to be revised to take the longer magazine. I looked into doing that to an intermediate action which was Savages early attempt at a short action cartridge action and said to H-ll with it.
