6mm AI .......mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmm GOOD! :)

As time allows, will post up targets and the load work up.

Purchased a long action from one member and a 6 AI barrel from another.

Primary use will be, hopefully, a little varmint hunting. Have a couple hundred Hornady 58 gr VMax (and Zombie!), some vintage W W Super headstamped brass.

    Definitely fits into my stable.

Loaded some firing forming rounds with H414 and four groups of five each with IMR3031, IMR4064, RL15, and Big Game.

Definitely like the Hornady coenctricity gauge/straightener. Fast, relatively accurate as well.

...and...believe everybody should have a Forster CoAx on the bench. Produces some rather straight ammunition. The 20 fireformed cases and neck sized cases required no adjustment.

I have one in a J series with a Kreiger barrel on it. Shooting 95gr bergers it is crazy accurate. Welcome to the club

Had a 6mm AI on a Mauser action....l loved the round hated the action. Furthest kill I had with it was 805 yards on a p-dog and shot steel with it at 1000+ often. Good thing I have the chamber reamer and it will clean up a 243 chamber. I will have another one sooner or later.

But will it clean up a 243AI?

I don't have the coax press but my concentricity gage says the Lee collet die set is dead on.I'm really liking my 6 AI!

Good question...it very well could and since they are both pretty straight I'm guessing it would....but I build roads for a living and not rifles so talk to a smith if that's a project your wanting to tackle. :)
