    Deer Photos Needed

Does anyone have any photos of deer (living, not after the kill) they would be willing to let me use for subject matter in my artwork? (I'm an artist and hunter).

I'm starting a new painting which I want to call "grey ghost" and would love a frontal shot of a good buck--but doesn't have to be. Thanks for the support guys. : )

Any reason a quick sear of google images won't work?

Is this going to be coues deer art? They are nicknamed the grey ghost of the desert. If so you might check az game and fish site as well as coueswhitetail.com for some good pics.

There is a vague possibility that someone (i.e. on-line giant) might track you down and sue you for copyright infringement--even though they probably stripped the image from a user with all rights to do whatever they want with it. That's why I prefer to make it a simple legit thing with a hunter who I know can appreciate what I'm trying to do.

I use the term loosely to describe any deer which as we know are remarkably adept at hiding in plain sight. : )

Glad I could help! Willoughby, send me your email address and I'll send you a picture of a live deer, too! One that hasn't been eaten on by a wolf. :-)

My first season and I'm totally hooked--even though all I got was one road-kill; but I've already eaten most of her. : ( I figure doing deer art will help me with withdrawal symptoms until next fall. : )

thermaler, deer hunting is addictive! I live in an area where the deer population is huge. They're small, by most standards; rarely weighing over 100 pounds, field dressed. Our bag limits reflect our deer population: 5 deer per season in most counties, 2 bucks and 3 does. We eat a lot of venison!!

Making venison sausage pasta sauce as we speak. : ) Are your out-of-state resident licenses reasonable?

I took this last night. It's kind of a distant shot so I don't know if it will help.
They were in the yard just before this, so if they come back tonight I can see if I can get some closer shots if you still need them.

If you are still in need of deer photos, here are two more I took tonight. These two were taken in front of the house just under the bird feeders.
If you are looking for photos of bucks, that is probably not going to happen in front of the house

    Hope this helps

Thank you so much! I can ALWAYS use more pics of deer. I'm about 1/2 done with my very first deer painting and already have ideas for several more. Deer are beautiful animals worthy of being subject matter in art. : )
