    Looks good! Good Job!
What about a regular belt buckle? You could adjust it and have a loop to catch the extra length.

That looks great, ShawneeB. Gives me ideas..... I've never tried that before. Very cool, sir.

Thanks Bean and Rupe and T. Not hard to do, just time consuming. I made this one from a utube guys vid. When he says 30-35 feet of each, translated means 35 for the center one. 90" long on the short (2nd and 5th) gets doubled and that's your sling length so adjust from there. If you didn't have 35 feet cause you made them all 30" feet? The 2 you tie under the knot can be pulled, pulling the lower swivel up a little even when almost done:)

I thought about a buckle. Thing is these are thick, maybe 1/4" and would be tough to pull thru a regular U Mikes swivel. I see some on fleabay where they sew on a piece nylon webbing with sliding buckle. That works but I'd like to figure a good way to do just paracord. You can also make the "loop" type for shotgun butts, old style leverguns and muzzleloaders too.

I been tying up all kinds of paracord stuff. Lanyards, key rings, neck ID thingies, bracelets... Going to do a pistol lanyard for an old 1894 Nagant revolver. Also a neck lanyard to hole coyote calls, or any call.

Oh yea, when you cross over always do either the left or right first or you can tell on the back side (one with diagonals in the middle) the diagonal will cross the opposite way. Works fine though :)

    Nice work!

I always wanted to make one myself. I can do simple paracord braclets and even made a long one for my surefire to attach to my vest while I was in Iraq after losing one of my flashlights. I've got a bunch of paracord laying around, I'm going to have to give it a try.

Thanks AZ. Go for it. If you did the cobra stitch bracelets which is the norm it's the same cept the crossover. Cool thing is you can untie till you got it right then it's repetition. I get cord at paracordplanet. One order and account then they send specials like buy 2 100 foot hanks and one free or 100's same price as 50', and once buy 10 25 foot, get one free. Free shipping and pretty fast. There is another u tube vid for an even easier one and his first time.

Love it. My daughter makes the rubber band bracelets and we just did 3 550 key chains. Next step, buy more 550 and start making slings.

Thanks Snow. Fun isn't it. No set rules on color, patterns either, just sound knots is all. Paracordplanet has $5 off with a code on a $45 order, then very good specials. I like their cord and colors selection but have gotten some hardware off Amazon too. 3/8 buckles are good for bracelets and all the hardware. I have done the cobra stitch bracelets and a jawbone design. Jawbone takes a bit longer but it's a very cool pattern. Theirs an easy to follow utube on the jawbone too.

I'm making a 2 tone kinda rust and orange/rust camo right now for a shotgun. I'll post that one tomorrow too.

I drew inspiration from your project & attempted one. It looked easy enough. I figured, what the hell.... So easy a Savage Axis owner can do it.
After the fire rescue guys got here & untangled my fingers from the cord, they requested I try a different hobby.

Ya know, my birthday is coming up in March if you'd like to surprise me with one. Make it a wide one for my Mossberg bird cannon.
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!

I have an extra wide strap on mine. Its an old police type door breach / riot gun. The barrel is thicker than any Mossberg barrel I've seen & its got wood furniture. I didn't care for the look of the poly-plastic stuff.
I also carry 20 extra rounds with it - 5 on the stock, 15 on the strap.

Needless to say, its a great workout humping it thru the jungle with it hanging off my shoulder.

Nice work on the rope weaving. Gives your Mossy a bit of class.

I had a M 30 pump, short, HB, no dis-connector so slam fire if you pumped and trigger still down, was a LEO issue. Sold it like a dumbo. Didn't say anything on it but think it was an Ithaca.

I have a bandolier too but should have a buttstock carry too. Going out in very heavy, very hungry coyote country today in sub zero, think I'll carry it!

Thanks, hard to dress up a mossy but I tried. Maybe a rattle can matching paint on the stock :)

After years of watching bored Soldiers make trinkets out of 550 cord, my daughter and I have started. We are making everything from bracelets to dog collars to slings. This post was definitely the inspiration. Thank you.
    Two slings we made.

Shawnee, I have way to many hobbies now that I can't keep up with, I'm not ready to start another one.

I'm with Rupe here too. I'm just hanging back and watching the handywork unfold. Guitars, Savages, my pups, and life won't allow extra time to make such wicked cool stuff!
Though I do need to figure a way to secure a 1,000 foot spool to my BOB frame and gear.

My B-day is the 26th this month! And I live in the same state too! Surely to goodness sending a sling to me would cost far less than a gun to Oregon

But ShawneeB has also more than helped with getting my mind right about my longbow. So, I'm humbled again.. lol
