    Fair price on Stevens 200?

I have never bought a parted out bolt action rifle, only complete rifles. I am familiar with parted out Handi-Rifle prices, but that don't help much in this situation.

I am looking at a Stevens 200 barreled action,22-250. It seems to be complete, just needs a magazine follower, spring and a stock. He is asking $200. I know things have changed but I have seen complete rifles go for that much in the past. (A couple of years ago I bought a Stevens 110 30-06 w/ a 3-9x40 scope for $199 +tax&BC. . .). Is $200 about right? It does have some surface rust and of course I would have to find a stock and the other parts too. I need to know what kind of room I have to negotiate.

    Thanks

    BW

It's as good a deal as you are going to find, go for it.

Stockrex, Ryang, were those complete rifles? I don't think I can buy a stock for $50-$70.

sorry, posting a link here for somebody else's for sale ad on another site may be considered as selling outside of the classifieds even though I have no interest in it.

Well I went back to that gun store to try and buy the action. I could not get them to budge on the $200 price tag so I left it there. I could not see the sense in buying a used barreled action for $200 and having to buy the stock, mag spring and follower, when I have priced the exact same rifle NEW with scope combo for $400.

I have some take off stocks from 2 22-250 that you can have, just pay postage. One is from an unfired gun.

I saw one in .270 Win in a pawn shot today listed for $250 with a cheap scope, rings, and bases. I was not shopping for one, so I did not ask for a best price.
