Savage 111 rebarrel to 6.5 Swede

I am in the process of rebarreling a Savage 111 .270 win into a 6.5x55 swede. I have most of it figured out by reading on here but I have one question I can't seem to find the answer to.

With a bolt head of .473 (.30-06 based) can I reliably feed/extract brass that has the "correct" base diameter of .480 particularly PPU brass.

    Ha ha, I also rebarreled a model 111 .270 to 6.5x55 http://www.savageshooters.com/showth...nally-complete

So far I have used some federal brass, it was just fine. Lapua works just fine also.
I also made some dummy rounds out of some sweedish milsurp brass, it worked just fine.
