First time out with new gun.

Here are the first 4 shots on a new target at 50 yards after zeroing the scope in on my new 11/vt in .308. My first first bolt gun, and the first time zeroing a scope.

Why does the area around the target look like it got hit with shrapnel? You throw grenades at it?

Good luck with the new toy.

Oh, and welcome to your new addiction.

Lol... I think some of the target boards might be nearing the end of their life cycle at the gun club...

Shoots good doesn't it! On a side note anybody know what the marking across the barrel about two inches in front of the end of the stock is? Tooling mark of some kind? Mine has the exact same mark.

I thought maybe it was from the display rack a DSG. It was the display, and the only thing i could think of.

Took it out to 100 after this pic was taken, group was just a little larger, but forgot to take a pic. The club i belong to goes out to 300, and i plan on working my way out when the weather improves a bit.

Mine was right out of the box and still has the exact same mark. It's not a big deal really just noticed it was the exact same on your gun.

My "guess" now would be the marks are from the racks that savage uses at the factory when they finish a rifle prior to packaging .
