    99 in 300 Savage


    I am in the process of buying another 99 in 300 Savage. Serial number is 300744 and stamped with an X. I am guessing it is a take down model as there is a lever on the forend and the barrel is marked "off". Any other info from anyone is much appreciated.

    It's either a model 99G or a 99F.

    A G will have a pistol grip checkered stock and the F will have an uncheckered straight grip stock.
