Need Opinion on what powder for 270WSM?

I have a Sako 270WSM with a 1-11" twist. I will be using 140 grain Berger VLD's. I am looking for a powder that is tolerate to temp. change. Reason being is I am grouping it now and its bout 80 degrees but hunting temp. will be 30 to 40 degrees. So I am thinking that a Hodgon powder like H4350 or H4831SC would be a good one.

Give me Ya'lls rec. on what powder and grains are a good choice. Thanks man.

I used H1000 with 140g Sierra Gamekings with good results. Velocity was around 3150fps but extreme spreads were very low. I don't recall the charge but it was near/at max.

Have heard lots of good things from Magpro but I can't get it locally so have never tried it myself.

I got great results from IMR 4350 working up loads for copper bullets last year to hunt with, but I will be re-doing the work with H4350 for the exact reason you mention. Aug is 100+ here and end of October at 8,000 ft is below freezing, the temp shift is a bear.

I use Varget for a lot of calibers, and I managed to get some H4198 in time to avoid using the IMR 4198 I had, just didn't get it done with the H4350.

270 WSM is a great caliber as far as I'm concerned.

IMR 4350 is "thee" powder for my wildcat 257/300 WSM. My 7WSM and 300WSM both shoot very well with RL-19 and RL-22. No reason to think that 270 would be too much different. The IMR 4350 may be worth a look for light bullets.

RL-22 is the powder that I had the best luck with. Shooting 140 gr Accubonds, I could get 3300 fps without any pressure issues. The accuracy was very good as well

I've been using Retumbo, very temp stable, very good speed. I've been shooting the 140 Bergers and Accubonds, the Accubonds have a longer bearing surface so they go faster with the same load and they show pressure sooner.
My accuracy node is @ 3340fps. I think the H1000 may be a little better, less fouling but I am just now able to get my hands on it and I don't want to experiment right before hunting season, I had enough to shoot one group and it was very good but the Retumbo shot very good also and had more of that so it got the nod for this season.
R17 was bad, pressure signs @ 3200fps and poor groups. Magpro has something to it and I will revisit it after hunting season, I was getting 3420fps with mild pressure signs which interests me but I don't know how it will handle the temp swings. The Retumbo is 71gr and the Magpro was 72gr, 71 gr of Retumbo is hot!
The 71 gr of Retumbo runs the Bergers 3300fps and they fly great but are picky.
    Super fun and effective cartridge!!!

Caps lock: Cruise control for cool.

Having said that, I'm getting the consensus H4350 is a good all-around powder. Sounds good, my 4895 is going to have some company!

I also found Rl-22 to be the best in mine too.
Also the 135's are the best all around weight of bullet for the 270 wsm.
But why are you worried about tempture change loading when it's
hot going hunting in the cold will not affect any powder.
The reverse of that is what will get you into trouble.
