OK... I have a 112 BVSS 300 Win Mag... I have been shooting it for years. This winter I am going to replace the barrel with a 26in Criterion Varmint. I would like to buy a Manners T4A from Stockys that is already inlet for CDI bottom metal. However can any of you tell me if the varmint contour barrel will work with the Manners T4A stock, Should I go with a bull Barrel Contour in stead.
Thanks for your input

I have a 26" criterion varmint contour in 7rm in a choate tactical stock and its just fine, lots of extra room around barrel. I don't have any manners but any stock for your action that's made for a bull barrel should work just fine.
Sorry I think I miss read your post.

Why would you want a bull barrel ? I think the varmint contour with the taper is actually stiffer without all the extra weight at the unsupported end. You might do better to get a longer barrel in a varmint contour. 300WM has plenty of case capacity, so I don't think that 26" is the limit for a 300WM at all. A 30" may be better and in the tapered contour will probably still be lighter than a 26" bull.
I don't necessarily want a bull barrel...Didn't know if it would be better. This will be my first bolt gun build and am looking for advice. Built M14's & Garand's as well as multiple AR's...1st bolt gun though and looking for your thoughts.
Thanks
Angelo
