Stevens 200 with Heavy Varmint barrel? (in .223 Rem) - YEP!

Bought a used factory Steven bolt action .223 (with a very rare factory Varmint contour 24” barrel in 1:9 twist). Read more about it here: http://www.savageshooters.com/showth...l-(in-223-Rem)

Shoots 69gr SMKs real nice out of Lake City '11 brass with CCI SR #400 primers using 24.1gr of Varget powder...

(BTW.. if you can't read it, that's 3 shots at 100 yds with ctrs at 0.17" for an MOA of 0.16"!)

here is the skinny on it….

    > new Duracoat paint
    > Kevin Rayhill stock
    > Rifle Basix trigger set to 14oz
    > Bolt handle swap (from model 12)
    > Bolt lift kit
    > Burris Signature 1” rings (with 10 MOA inserts)
    > Burris Tru-mount bases
    > Pentax 8.5-32x 44mm 1/8 MOA adjustments

All in, I have less than $700 wrapped up into it (scored the scope as a freebie) including shipping, FFL, etc.

    Not too shabby!

Real nice rig ya got there, Jim.
Ya know, you have the cleanest reloading bench I have ever seen. I think you just might be a bit more compulsive than the average reloader...

And, for what its worth, your new toy looks to be the same color as a '64 Nova I had years ago.
Good luck with that new rig.
'Scuse me while I whip this out...!

Thank ya sir... I was very reluctant on the Blue (Duracoat - Royal Blue), but I wanted this to be a bit different (and that she is). It's growin' on me...

Probably gonna use this to shoot short prone matches (F/TR) if I can find any local. I think it would be neat to have a cheapie rifle shooting with the big boys!
