    Savage Weather Warrior 16/116 FCSS

i am looking at getting a new rifle for moose, caribou and black bear .i wanted something that was going to shoot good out of the box with minimal work.i came across the fcss in 300 win mag that has the accustock and accutrigger.i was wondering if this is a good gun for the price.

Not knowing the price, it's hard to answer that.
i have a 116FLSAK in 300 WinMag that I bought new a long time ago for just over 400. It has the muzzle brake and fluted heavy magnum barrel, and shoots really tight groups. I wish it had the hinged floor plate but oh well. Savages are inherently accurate rifles, so find a good price on what you want and you should be satisfied.

This.... even new at retail I think it's s great gun. Have a 116 myself. The Tikka T3 is comparable, price and quality with accuracy out of the box, and also a very nice gun.
The T3 is right around $700 art my local sportsman's werehouse include scope rings

729 is steep, IMO. Look at sites like Gun Broker and Guns America to get an idea what they're going for. Find an FFL and order from Buds, they always seem to have the best prices.

I have two weather warriors, one in 30-06 and the other in .243. If you are looking for an accurate rifle look no further, my rifles shoot sub minute of angle at 100 yards with factory ammo. I can't wait to see what they will do with hand loads.

Looks like Jet got a good price on what must have been used(?)

Looking at prices a Buds, ($709) it seems to me your LGS is not out of line at all.
