i just ported the barrel on my 308 helps alot but alot loader too

I wouldn't recommend doing any porting where the rifling is in the barrel. screw on ports do the job after the bullet has left the rifling. if you port in the rifling you will loose muzzle velocity.
im sorry but i disagree i havent seen any lost of velocity in my loads with the barrel port or without it
