    Bolt release change?

I tried searching for this but did not find any reference post!

Can a bottom bolt release be changed to a top release? Is it just a question of changing the sear or is there more to it? I know the stock will need modifying.

So, the top release has a flat on the receiver and the bottom release does not?

I have looked into this and supposedly there was someone making a correct conversion top bolt release that would fit. Cant remember who. I just read this so not sure if it is actually true.

Some people have had luck slightly bending a factory top release lever, some not. Very hard metal and it cracks if bent too far.

With either you would need to clearance the stock on that side.

Or you could nix the bolt release all together and take the action out of the stock to release the bolt.
