New stock for my F-Class Axis

    Hi all

I have made a new stock for my F-Class rig for 2014. It is in curly maple.

Savage Axis receiver/bolt in 223 rem
Shilen select match bull barrel, 1:7 twist
    Regular Savage recoil lug
    Rifle Basix trigger
Homemade aluminium trigger guard and cheek riser hardware
    BobFortier curly maple stock
    Adjustable buttpad

I can change the bagrider under the buttstock, I incorporated a rail under there so depending on the rear bag profile, I can make a perfect one to match. Here is one I started to fit my bag

And here is the buttpad adjustment. A small lenght of rail, and with one allen wrench I can adjust the height and twist of the buttpad. With the same allen wrench I can adjust height of the cheek riser, and remove the action from the stock

Bipod is also incorporated in the stock, to lower it as much as I can

That is one beautiful piece of wood!

    Couple of questions:
-How many hours invested in the finished product?
-How many of these have you built before?

I guesstimate about 35 to 40 hours for the job, it must be the 20th stock I make, I do not keep count.

I am shooting the 90vld, so maybe I will not be able to beat guys shooting 215 out of their 308, bt I have a personnal goal to be in the top 3 once in the season, at least

Geeezzz Bob, that wood looks nicer than some of my furniture.
    Nicely done, once again.

    Good luck with the competitions.

It seems like every stock you make is more gorgeous than the last. I'm constantly drooling over them.

Wish I had the tools and skills that you do. Great work!

Wow again Bob. Beautiful wood. Cool extras, even a very comp looking trigger guard this time.

    Forget it.
I've been trying to get him down here to Florida for 2 years.
All I ask of him is to bring his tools. I'll supply the nice weather, food, drink & women. The only thing left is money.

Either that of drive to Canada & kidnap him.

    Cleaning the keyboard is easy.
The wife saw me licking the screen & smacked me. She thought I was looking at porn.

Porn is porn, whether living or inanimate, porn is porn. My wife is never sure if it is a gun, girl or motorcycle...

First F-Class season is done with this set-up

    Hello all !

Bringing this back up. I just shot the last F-Class match of the season, and this rifle was in the top 3 in F/TR all summer ! Not bad for an Axis in 223 on a homemade stock.

We shoot 300, 400, 500 and 600 yards in competition.

Very happy with the results so far. I got a Sightron SIII 10-50 x 60 on it for the season, but other than that it is the same as pictured

Congrats on the great finish with a great rifle!! Viva Axis!! On a side note, did you get a T & T or is that something you did yourself?
