I just got a model 12 LRP and want to put a 20 MOA base on it. I've found one base for a Precision action with screw holes spaced:
(1st to 2nd hole 0.861") (2nd to 3rd hole 3.937") (3rd to 4th hole 0.861") (Mount Length 6.000") from the back of the action towards the muzzle.
Another for around top short action with holes spaced:
(1st to 2nd hole 0.860") (2nd to 3rd hole 3.941") (3rd to 4th hole 0.860") (Mount Length 6.018")
I tried to measure the hole spacing in my action with calipers but wasn't confident in my measurements to be certain.
I expect the "Precision action" base is the correct one but want to save time and trouble by getting the right one first.
I would have thought the hole spacing was the same.
Is the "Precision" one the right one?
Thanks

the target action base should be the same as the round top short action base.....
Don't know why your measurements are different, but I have both styles on my target actions and they both fit.

This is correct , so long as it is indeed a short round back then it will use the same base... A simple cross reference of part #'s from companies such as the vendors on here or say Nightforce will conclude that there are only so many models of one piece short action bases to chose from..
