    Hog hunter DBM?

I've decided on a boyds tacticool for my hog hunter. They have a model which is already inletted for a DBM. Problem is, it is for a regular factory barrel. The hog hunter has a medium contour barrel. I'm sure I can open up the barrel channel, but how much will that leave on the sides? And, will any aftermarket bottom metal/mag combo such as cdi work or will I have to get one from savage? Thanks.

I believe they are inlet for the Savage factory DBM, but a call to Boyds will answer that for sure for you. You should end up with plenty of material left after opening for your barrel. Many people have opened them up for the Varmint contour barrels with great success so you should be fine.
