I loaded some 22-250 Berger 52gr flat based match bullets this weekend.
At a 100yds, I was putting them in the same hole!
What is the secret with the flat bullets at short range?
Also, how many yds are these bullets good for, 150, 200, 250yds etc.?

It's not so much distance as it is velocity. The advantages of a boat tail design do not kick in until the bullet goes sub-sonic.

Generally it has been my experience that Flat Base bullets are more accurate at close range. I think it has something to do with a more even "push" on a larger area of the bullet.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
Benchrest guys have known this for years... Flat based bullets are usually more accurate than boat tails at short ranges. This is primarily because it is much easier to get the base of a flat base bullet flat and true than it is for boat tails -- mostly a manufacturing issue.
Many time a boat tail bullet doesn't "settle down and spin true" until about two hundred yards. I've found BT match bullets usually group tighter at 200 yards than at 100.
