Are you using a copper solvent?
My Shilen showed a little blue on the patches for about 50 rounds. None since.
My new Shilen select match barrel is shooting sub moa with factory ammo, and an inexperienced shooter! As far as breaking in I have not seen any signs of copper at all through the first 30 rounds. Maybe I dont know what to look for, but when I clean it all I get is some black powder residue. I have not seen any of the blue indicators on patches yet. I cleaned it after the first 5 shots, again after 5, and then after 10.

VISA loves me since I joined this site.
I'm at work so I cant look at the brand, but yes it is a copper solvent in a spray can with a tube. Light blue and grey can.
I hope you didn't void your warranty by not following Shilen's recommended break-in procedure.
No one follows break in procedures - and who would know anyway?!?!Originally Posted by ctrout
