Not sure what part of Missouri you are in, But Houston, MO has Big piney sportsmans club. St Louis has The St Louis Benchrest club. Spicard has vapor trail (North Missouri ). They all hold scheduled matches.

I think they all have websites, do a google search and you find them.

I am in Neosho, MO. I am hearing some buzz about some 200 yard matches in Joplin. I am also hearing buzz about a range under construction in Webb City, MO.. They are looking at 600 yards there.

I travel to Tulsa to shoot matches (which start in March). Tulsa is a bit of a stretch, and I'd rather not drive that far if anyone comes up with something closer. Having said that - my only reservation is the mileage - the club and range there are excellent, and the people that show up make the drive more than worth it. It is huge fun, and Oklahoma folks are known for making people feel welcome. Anyone who is respectful and safe will be made to feel right at home inside of 20 minutes. In March there is a 600 yard NRA midrange and a 1000 yard match. I am going to both. After that, there is a 600 yard match every month. Anyone that would like to come and play are welcome to ride with me. In the meantime, I am also hoping someone pops in here with closer matches.

I just ordered my new savage 111 today and will be buying my barrel this week so maybe this summer we can get together and go to that shoot and split gas or something. I'll be practicing on my 680yds on my practicing because I'd like to really get good at this long range shooting

Sounds excellent! In the meantime, I'm heading to Springfield in the next few weeks to look at the Bartlein barrels that are rumored to be in stock at Grizzly tools. I'll pm you before I go,in case you might want to meet up to check out a barrel and grab a beverage. I have a friend that heard they had some. (might just be rumor). I checked the website and found that the owner is an avid shooter and stocks barrels, reamers and go/no go guages, but the website isn't specifically saying they are stocked at the Springfield location. I thought it would be worth a drive, if for no better reason than to pick up some powder and bullets at Bass Pro.

We are having a shooting weekend 18-19 Jan at Big Piney Sportsmans club in Houston MO. Saturday is a 600 yd Fclass and Sunday is the steel tactical Shoot. Come on out and have fun.

A new club has opened in Macks Creek, MO, Rolling Hills Rifle and Pistol
They have a 300 yard and a 1200 yard range. I believe memberships are available and I understand that they will be have some events in 2014

    SW MO lookin to shoot

Hey guys, I live in the Springfield area and am looking to get together and shoot with some like minded people. I have access to a 500yd range locally but thats about it. We need to get a group together for sure. Obviously it'll have to wait til after deer season . I have heard about the Springfield Bench Club but from what ive seen they only shoot at a 200yd range. Not much fun there imo. Let me know what yuns think.

    brangus,

Let me know in December, maybe we can get you out to Rolling hills or Big piney. Both have extended ranges BPSC out to 800yds and Rolling Hills out to 1100 yds.

Sounds good to me. Just picked up a 16 FCSS in 6.5 Creedmoor yesterday that needs to be tested.

If you think you want to shoot long range at all, just go down there. Stop by the house and let them know you are thinking of joining and I bet they open the place up for you.

I haven't heard from them yet but I think I may have to look into big piney also. It may be further but cost of membership will play big in this. Esp if one is 3 times as much as the other. (Have a kid at Missouri S&T and one at Drury University) not leaving Dad much to play with. :)
