Savage 10 with Bottom bolt release on XLR

Hey just wondering if anyone with the bottom bolt release has an XLR on their savage. I'm very interested in this combo and am wondering what the deal with the magazines are since they seem to kind of set the rifle up to use an AICS mag system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Yes, XLR uses AICS magazines.

This is what XLR's workaround for the bottom bolt release looks like:

ok cool, so the AICS replaces the entire bottom metal and will make my 10 take the aics mags?

The XLR replaces your entire stock (which has bottom metal). The chassis holds AICS magazines the exact same way bottom metal does.

So yes, the chassis replaces the DBM and you would need AICS-pattern magazines (AI, Accurate-Mag, Alpha) for your rifle to mag feed.
