    Question Rebarrelling question

    Quick question...

If I rebarrel my 110 30-06 to 300WM, once I set headspace with the HS gauge, do I still need to finish ream the chamber?

My thing is usually M14's and with those rifles, unless you are installing a chrome-lined barrel, you have to finish ream the chambers. Is it the same for bolt guns or do you just buy a new barrel, like a Shilen, screw it on, set headspace and you're done?

    Thanks,
    Tony.

    No.

    Yes.

You will have to change the bolt head if you go from 30-06 to the 300 Win Mag but with a Savage that is easy.

Thanks! I've got a new Mag faced bolt along with a new magazine and follower.
