    any one seen weaver basses attached without screw from the factory??


    I got an older savage rifle that came with weaver basses attached to th action but here is no screw i can not tell if they are made as one piece or if they are attached by some form of resistnance welding and one seen these befor alos the serial starts of with an E

    yep, Savage made a run of actions with the bases integrated onto the action, and are not removeable. They quickly scrapped that idea...

    actions are fine as far as I know, just has limited scope mounting options. Maybe BillPa will chime in here soon. I'm pretty sure he has one too IIRC.

    Here's one...


    New it was an '06, now its a 280. ( I think thats what is on it at the moment ;D) Its getting another barrel on it here.




    No problems that I've come across so far. The only thing you to watch is the scope mounting length and it's position for you. Your limited to the fixed mount position.

    you have one that is soldered on or the older one model that was cast with bases?
    Cast receivers only lasted one year. they warped during heat treating.

    well i would say that mine is maybe cast on how do i tell i do not see any weld marks or anything like that mine is a 7mm-08 I also have the S# i guess i should just look that up i am just trying to decide if i wat to keep it or seel it actualy
