    It has many applications. One could say, it is, ummm, universal in nature.

    Similar to Bushnell or Tasco in today's market, Japanese glass, imported thru Florida, Hialeah or something like that. I had one that came from the factory on a Remington rifle, a straight 4 power. It was ok, held zero, and didn't fog up thru northwest deer and elk seasons. It was ok until I looked through my first Leupold, and you know what happened next......
    Universal also either manufactured or imported 30 carbine M1 rifles.
