Hey guys i a have a model 16 fhlss .243, I am wanting to convert my gun to a dbm setup.
I am trying to order a bottom metal through savage part finder but when I put my gun serial number in it doesn't display the dbm bottom metal... I require a savage firearm serial number to use that has the dbm from factory so I can purchase the parts. If anyone can help me please don't hesitate.
Thanks Reece

Sharp Shooters Supply also sells the conversion parts.
Don't think anyone is gonna give out their serial numbers. Like mentioned above, the best thing to do is to call savage directly and tell them what you need. Once you give them your serial number they will have the model year and will know what will fit.

Try G740797 at the Savage parts site and see if that gets you to the DBM parts you need.
I tried last time to get some parts for my Model 16. Without the serial number, they just keep saying it wont fit, even though I know it will. Guessing liability issues. Wanted bottom metal. I did only get a metal handguard but not the rest. I told em I'd fit it myself but they still said no. They were pretty good about everything but probably best if you got a serial number. I'm in Canada and I had the part within the week.
With respect to the guidelines of this site, if you were a paid member I might be able to help you depending on your stock inlet. Keep in mind that these items purchased these as new or unused are not cheap and were sold as a frame and a cap when SSS was still stocking...er trying to supply them to their customers.
Availability has been an issue for a while and many people having hard feelings over not being able to get their parts right freaking now could have prompted SSS to discontinue those items. Just a hunch.
I posted all the part numbers for the plastic and stainless DBMs, just can't find it using the search feature
Savage DBM Parts Numbers -plastic
Trigger Guard- 107217 $25
Frame Assy- 106705 $78
Magazine- 55105 $50
Parts in stainless are from the Weather Warrior
Frame assy black metal: #107325 $78
Frame assy Stainless metal: #106705 $86
Stainless DBM magazine: #55109 $60
stainless trigger #105897 cost $17
From what Fred told me it had more to do with people not knowing what they have and/or what they need which resulted in a lot of extra work for them doing refunds/exchanges. As such they've decided to let someone else deal with it from now on as they have plenty of other work to keep them busy.

Anyone else having trouble getting it to work ?
I can get the schematic to come up and that as far as it goes.

Should be able to get what you need
You have to call Savage Arms to order the DBM parts. You give them your serial number. Tell them you are trying to convert from a blind magazine to a DBM and need the the frame assembly and bottom cap. Tell them you want the new still metal trigger guard also. They will tell you it won't fit. You tell them to send it anyway and mark your invoice non-returnable. Prepare yourself for sticker shock!
After all this with savage arms part finder, I am unable to purchase and ship to Australia.
Is anyone willing to accept my money to purchase and ship to me as they don't ship out of usa
Frame assy Stainless metal: #106705 $86
I will generously pay you for your time and effort

I still can't get the parts finder to work.
I asked them when I called one time, why the part finder isn't working for my serial number. She said I had a gun only a few months old and that the part finder directory hasn't been updated yet. When I asked when the next update would be, she told me that they do it quarterly (whenever that is I don't know). That's the case for why my part finder doesn't work anyway.
My rifle is 10 years old. I can get to the schematic and that's it. I click on the part number and nothing happens.
Here are some serial numbers that can be used with the parts finder.

NBR in the part name probably means "new bolt release." HFP is hinged floor plate.
The older side release bolt guns all use the 106238 frame assy. The 106705 is for the bottom bolt release. The trigger guard is different for the two different frame assemblies.
