    Question Re-barreling a 114 AC 300 wm to .375 Ruger

Guys i have a chance at a screaming deal on a brand new 114 American classic L/H in .300WM and i want to replace the barrel with one chambered in .375 Ruger as i have been wanting one forever. I know they share the same case so the bolt head isn't a issue, does anyone know if there is enough room in the clip for this larger/fatter case?? I google my brains out but can't find anyone who has done it. I already own a custom Rem 700 in 300WSM so i want to go BIG. Who sells pre-fits chambered in .375 Ruger?

Your thread title says "373 H&H" My first reaction was; what's a .373 and if he meant .375 H&H, I don't think the Savage action is long enough.

Are you wanting to rebarrel to a 375 HH or a 375 Ruger?

I can't say I've done such a swap. I might get some 375 Ruger brass and see how it fits in your magazine. It might cut the capacity by one round.

The .300 wm has a case diameter same as .375 ruger. The oal length of the .300 wm is 2.62 and the 375 is 2.58. So there should be no reason it wouldn't be just a simple barrel swap.

Actually the case diameter is not the same. The Ruger case is the same diameter as the belt on the win mag or H&H case. And yes it will fit. I have a 116 in 376 Ruger and the detachable magazine has 300 win mag stamped on it.

Yes, I have an older LA control feed magnum action that was originally 300 WM and I put a 375 ruger barrel on it a while back.
No issues at all and it fed through the 300 WM magazine.

BTW the 300WM and 375 Ruger do not share the same case. The 375 Ruger does not have a belt.

I just noticed you said L/H but I just picked up a Savage stainless DBM 24" barreled 375 ruger package gun with a Nikon scope for about $558, free shipping from Buds.

The rim diameter is the same, both .532. The 300 is a belted case. The 375 Ruger is a rimless case. Wikipedia says it's a unique case. Designed just for the cartridge.
