    Changing bolt head

If I'm going to change from a .473 to a .378 bolt face will the only thing I need be a new bolt head? Will all other parts swap in OK?

You may have an extractor issue. I have the parts to look at but the shop is closed for today sorry.

The ejector is the same, some people say the extractor is different, some say its the same. I have measured both as I have removed from rifles and I don't see a difference between them. I'd switch it all over and see if it works for you. All of mine have so far.

I did this. I bought an extra extra extractor spring and ball. Savage told me the extractors are the same.

So what do I do if I want to go from a .243 to 6PPC is there a bolt head swap or do I have to buy the .223 bolt head and have it modified?
I just saw where PT&G makes bolt heads for Savage long and short actions, maybe I will give them a call. Has anyone used any of these?

i was going to use PTG Bolt heads but found bad reviews. Also, when I called the bolts are made only after your purchase. Phone person NOT technical.

Just get the 7.62x39 bolt head. You can get one from gun shack.
