    7mm twist ?

    .

Savage offers pretty good rifling twists from the factory. Perhaps the best.

For example, in 22 centerfire Savage offers 7, 9, and 12 inch twist currently and have offered 14 in the past.

The one twist rate that could be improved is the 7mm with its relatively slow 9 and a fraction.

This works OK for 140 grain groundhog bullets but is marginal for the 175-griain Sierra boattails and the like.

Everyone knows that the 7mm is intended for long, heavy bullets.

    Just read Karamojo Bell.

We should all go on strike until Savage offers the 7mm with 7 or 8 inch twist rates.

The twist in a Savage 7mm-08 is 1:10.5. Barely enough for a 140gr.
