Savage model 12 FV-S .204, it's the only rifle I have.
Well everybody has a favorite go to rifle, maybe on for varmints and one for larger game ... whats yours ?
I have a few, my Remingtom 30-06 for pigs at one time was my GO TO rifle, it has been replaced by my Hog Hunter in .308 ;- )
For bench/varmint, my Remington .223, 22-250 and 25-06 were my favorites. They have been resting in my gun safe replaced by my Savage Mod 10 bolt guns in .308 for gong shooting. I will use my 6.5 Grendel Savage build I think for varmint stuff.
What are yours ?

My model 10 250-3000. This is the one I grab 99% of the time. It has never failed to kill everything I shoot without hesitation and with extreme prejudice. Predators to elk it handles it all.
My 22-250 is now due to the ability to handle it quickly. Once the Shorty 308 is built it will be the go to.
My favorite has to be a 116 FLCSAK in 30-06 I bought back in 1996. At the time it was probably the most technologically advanced factory bolt gun available and it came as all Savage 110 series did back then in a left handed version. It has all the bells and whistles, stainless and synthetic pillar bedded with a detachable box, a 22" fluted barrel with adjustable muzzle brake, the three screw trigger which is easy to adjust and I have it set a little over 2#. I topped it with a Leupold Vari X 2 in 3-9x40 in standard Leupold rings and bases then I worked up a fantastically accurate handload with 57gr of IMR4350 CCI BR2 and a 165gr HPBT Sierra Game King. I use the same recipe for a hunting load substituting a Nosler Accubond. Best group to date was .446 for 10 shots at 100 yds with the Game Kings and I can depend on it to place the bullet exactly where the crosshairs are when the trigger is squeezed. From Varmints eradicated in extreme fashion to big game anchored nearly in place with one shot this one will do it all. It's a shame it's no longer a factory cataloged offering.

A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.
Gotta ask why you just don't use the game king?
Not sure what happened but I think It's a Ju Ju thing. I missed a deer crossing a power line easement at about 180yards. It should have been cake as I was propped up inside a shooting house with a great 8" wide window sill. Pretty sure I hit a limb that was too close to see through the scope. It's the only deer I have ever missed with this rifle. Really I could swear I hit it and it just didn't stop, so out of respect for the animals I hunt and for the sake of Ju Ju I switched bullets. Before I found the Game King accuracy load I was shooting Nosler BTs very well for a hunting load. I switched to the accubonds after seeing how well the little 110s performed in 25-06 and I do get very good accuracy and excellent terminal performance, Just not 10 shots into one ragged hole like with the Game kings. Just one of those things.

You guys have some nice GO TO rifles for sure.

25-06. Smokes everything it sees.
savage 110, 7mm rem mag, staggerfeed, plastic stock, blind mag with a burris fullfield II 3-9x40 built in 97 bought used cheap by me 2 years ago, I curse the trigger, the blind mag and the safety that is hard to operate with gloves on but it always works and it shoots great, all the time. The trigger will get worked over and the stock will get upgraded to a boyds this winter.
also rem 700 varmint barrel laminated stock in 22-250 with a burris 4.5-14x turns crows into a cloud of feathers just like in the cartoons
(please dont judge me for liking a remington)
A first generation 110L with an aftermarket .25-06 barrel. Bang flop.
Model 70 FWT. in 270 but working on my model 14 in 7mm-08 for next deer season.
my model 11vt in 308 could very well get there, like the rifle alot it shoots great, just dont have much time on it or much experiance with the trajectory of the cartrige yet. this thing shoots way way smaller groups than what is required for deer but that does add some confidence, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling LOL
Depend on the weather. If wet out I use the plastic stocked Steven's 200 in 270 Rem, In nice weather I use my Remington 725 in 280 Rem.
If stalking in the heavy stuff I use my Marlin 1894 in 44 mag.

I have and use an old Rem. 700 Custom KS Mountain Rifle in 7mm Rem. Mag. I experiment and play with my Savage 111, but when the need arises I grab this one.
havent finished my savage yet but it will be a 18.5" .308 as it stands my "go to" rifle is a 16" 300 blackout ar15. aka mini 30-30
Pre 81 BLR in 308. It has killed everything from moose and bear to rabbits and ground squirrels. Light, easy pointing it just fits.
Model 600 Remington, 338/08. Not much of a pelt gun, but short, fast, and accurate.
For varmints and foul weather deer my savage 25-06. For nice weather tree stand hunting I inherited a mint Sako L61R in 30-06 that is my real baby of all firearms. Paper or prone groundhogs without much walking my heavy-like-anvil savage 22-250.
