If you don't mind me asking, what is your drop at 2,500 yards a/k/a 1.5 miles.

Also, what is your findings (if any) between the 338 Edge and the 338 Lapua?

Your favorite bullet at this distance?

    Thanks, Dennis

Sure no problem! The bullet drop at 2500 yards is 228ft with a scope adjustment of 29.9 mils. I haven't shot the edge but if I were to go that route I'd probably go with the 338 Lapua improved. The edge pushes about an extra 50 fps (around 2850) while the lapua imroved will push the 300gr bullets 3000+ fps. I have been working with a 278gr copper solid from cutting edge bullets and they seem to be performing quite well. I'm putting together a few tests between the 300gr Bergers and the 278gr CEB and will be taking them out to 1500 and 2000 yards as soon as the weather gets better. The 278 solids are within .1gr in weight and .001" in legnth of each other while the Bergers vary from .8gr and .020" in legnth. My best group at 500 yards with the solids is under 3.2" with 4 of those shots in a 1.5" group. I'm thinking the solids are going to do pretty good at distance.

Awsome shooting I have the same rifle and love it, but Im getting stuck cases. Can you tell me what your using for powder and how many grains. I was using Retumbo at 92grns with 300 gr sierra match kings and having nice results but now I am at 85grns just so the cases wont stick. I did send the rifle back to Savage with a letter of what is going on. Keep up the good shooting .Semper Fi
