I have had the best results with IMR 4064 in my 08's in both accuracy and velocity but I never loaded over 140g pills.
Hey Guys,
I just started to put together a load for my Savage model 11 in 7mm-08. It has a 1-9.5" twist rate. I want to be able to shoot accurately out to six hundred yards.
The current load I have is as follows:
Bullet: Hornady 162 gr SST
Powder: 37.1 gr of H335
COL: 2.875"
Does anyone have any experience with this combo or any suggestions? I appreciate it.

Yeah, I tried the 140's but they are not heavy enough for my twist rate. Couldn't get any kind of accuracy.
Praise the Lord for precision rifles!
I would suggest going to a slower burning stick powder for the 162's ; As stated 4064 should be good. Possibly Varget.
I got the velocity and accuracy I wanted using 4350.
These powders will give much better case filling volume.
