The extra length limits bolt travel rearward, is one of your 110's a short round 243/308 ex ? Long cartridge for the short baffle ?
I just realized tonight that I have two 110 series bolts (both .473 bolt heads) that have different front baffle lugs. One of the baffles extends back the bolt and you can see about 1/2" when the bolt is closed, the other front baffle completely goes into the front of the action when closed. Why the difference ? Never really thought about that before.

No they were both long action cartridges, but one of the actions is an old single shot (the one with the extended baffle)
Yup it just limits the bolt throw. All the 223 guns come with them (or at least everyone I have seen so far) and the older 110 LA with the SA mag boxes had them also regardless of 223 family or 22-250/308 families.
In a single shot it really doesn't hurt or help as far as operation, it just shortens the cycle a bit.
