    Extractor ?

My extractor is copper colored, is that the old style ? Does the new style work better ? Also, what's the reason for a larger detent ball ?

Yes....the copper colored are the old style. The new ones are black and supposedly they are a little better....longer I believe. The larger detent ball gets rid of some of the float experienced by the smaller ball creating a better/stronger bite on the case rim.

I need a place to order a new style extractor and a ejector retaining pin from. If you have PN's that would be great.

9/64th inches, if you are looking at fractional sizes.

You can order those parts directly from Savage. My last order for three each extractors, ejectors and ejector springs was $33.00 including shipping. They were at my door in three days.

One other tidbbit. When you get ejectors directly from Savage you'll receive the new style with the follower. You may receive the old style from other vendors. I also highly suggest using a new spring when replacing the ejector with the new style.
