I've seen few post of people comparing the nion package scope vs the prostaff.

Well i own a prostaf 3x9 40mm bdc that i prurchased for my .270 and recently i got a trophy hunter xp 11/111 on 30-06 with the nikon scope. once i got it a compared the two scopes and came out to the conclusion that the the package scope is a lower line on the prostaff but is not the prostaff that you can buy for aorund 160 bucks.

here are some comparable pics.

1. prostaff stamped on the objective

2. package scope not stamped

3. prostaff turrerts are hand adjustable and caps are plastic

4. package scope has lower quality adjustment discs, how ever the caps are metal.

5. prostaff zoom knob is has plastic inserts and feels better made compared to the package scope and has an actual focus at the end of the eye piece.

6. package scope has a plastic knob and the the focus is not like the prostaff, the focus you actually move the whole eye pice in and out

conclution a great scope for a package and it me be an earlier version on of the prostaff.

also found on the in the SPOTON program and they have listed the savage package scope as an independent scope, not part of the prostaff....

hope this help people to understand the differences on the two scopes.
