    Low Rings or Medium Rings

Trying to determine if low rings will work or if I should just go with medium rings.

Bases: Burris 2-Piece Xtreme Tactical Scope Base Picatinny-Style
    Rings : Warne 1" Maxima Permanent-Attachable
Scope: Nikon 3x9 BDC ( came with gun, assume its a prostaff)

Will low rings clear or should I stick with medium

here is an awesome site for calculating ring hight. you might have to convert ring hight from inches into milimeters but it works great. http://www.mil-rad.com/scope_ring_calculator

Mate in my experience the Warne Lows work well.

I have mounted 50mm Nikons with them on an EGW rail with a Medium Varmint barrel before so I reckon they'll work..

If you go Mediums I have a feeling you will be too high.

If the objective is less than 50mm low rings should work.

My experience with all my savages is that anything higher than low rings is too high. With a one piece MOA canted base ( which raises the ring mount point by as much as 5/16") you can use low rings and get away with as much as a 56mm in some cases, but definitely any 50mm objective.
