    Head spacing a ML10


    Anybody know how to head space a Savage ML10?

    Ok, I'll bite....why do you think you need to mess with the headspace on a muzzleloader?

    Because I have a stuck breech plug and need to brake it down to remove stuck plug.

    They space off the primer
    But I would index mark it then put it back to the marks when your done. But first I'd soak it in kroil that will help with the plug

    Thanks Tyler, Sometimes you can't see the forest for the tree's. That's a good idea. I did soak it with kroil yesterday hopefully it will break loose today.

    Still have the old-style breech plug with the 4-toothed removal tool? If so it would be beneficial to upgrade to the newer 3/8" hex head breech plug as it makes life (and removing the plug) much easier. My old style plug stuck on me this spring and I thought for sure my walnut stock was going to break before the plug broke loose. Finally got it though - that's when I decided it was time I upgraded.

    Already ordered it But have to get the old one out first.
