Did Savage make a 4.27" short action DBM rifle ?

Maybe the one with the side push button release. Scout rifle?

Yup side button.

If its like the long action the area where the bottom metal goes is a little different on the action in that some material was removed
under the slot. I guess the bottom metal is slightly longer than an internal mag box. I reworked my bottom metal to fit my action but if I did it over again I would dremel off a little metal from the action.

One just sold on Ebay for $20 and change.
