    Internal or Detachablel Magazine?

I'm considering buying the Savage Model 11 GNS with the INTERNAL magazine. Would I be better off with the 11 GCNS that has the DETACHABLE magazine. What are the pros and cons of each? Any preference? Thanks.

You can't forget, lose or drop an internal magazine. However, a detachable magazine can be handy if you have more than one and can easily change them and hve them already pre-loaded.

there are more stock options for the internal magazines. otherwise, not much difference.

I've been shooting deer rifles with detachable magazines since about 1972 and I've never lost, forgot or broke one. Given the choice, I'll take a detachable magazine it's so much easier to load and unload the rifles.

Internal if you have or are going to keep your noodle barrel as it will help you slow down and keep from heating up your barrel. If you have or are going to change to a varmit/bull barrel then get the detach. I will probably make mine into a detach with a CDI base and mag once I get my new barrel.

    Good luck,

I went with the detatchable mag on my Savage 10FCP .308. Kinda like the idea since I am used to Ar-15 and FN FAL stuff. I like the fact I can buy more mags and have them onhand if I so desire. Planning on buying several when my bank account permits. I have the heavy barrel so no problems with heating up the barrel. Realy love this bolt action stuff...semis dont have the same allure for me as they once did. "noodle barrel" !!! ;D :D never heard that term before .

Are you afraid of the zombies? :D

(I got a 10FLCP-K because I wanted a detachable mag, synthetic stock, and heavy barrel. No other choices fit my desire at the time.)
