Hello Gents,
New member with a question,
I am looking to buy a MkII .22lr as a trainer for my shooting a "benchrest" Remington700 .308. I'm looking at the BTV model with the wood thumbhole stock, and was thinking I might just buy a FV plastic stocked model and fit a Boyd's on it.
What I understand is I will want to upgrade the bottom metal and trigger guard for the Boyds stock...if I buy the Boyd's. plus BM and guard it seems to be about the same price as just getting the BTV minus the DIY work. (I have done stock inletting/fitting/bedding to my Remington)
Does the BTV wood thumbhole have any problems with its bottom metal, trigger guard, whatever, as is? Is it free floated and/or pillar bedded? Does anyone think there is something to be gained one way or the other?
Thanks in advance
